What We Do
- Hand therapy refers to the assessment and management of conditions relating to the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow
- Hand therapists are physiotherapists (or occupational therapists) who have undergone advanced training in managing these conditions.
- We treat ACC injuries and are able to register a claim directly with ACC in most instances. There is no need for you to see the GP prior to your appointment.
- We also treat non-ACC injuries. Your hand injury may be covered by private insurers or self-funded.
Hand Therapy
Whether the condition is a sports injury, fracture or a chronic condition, our aim is to alleviate pain, restore function and return you to full function with confidence.
We treat injuries such as:
- Fractures, sprains and dislocations
- Tendon strains and ruptures
- Mallet injuries
- Volar plate and central slip disruptions
- Dupuytren’s disease
- Osteoarthritis
- Ganglion cysts
- Trigger finger
- Pulley injuries
- Nerve compression injuries
- Cuts, lacerations, burns and injuries requiring wound management
- Post operative management of many of the above conditions
